Return Of The Mac

We are at the time of year associated with brief showers and so we need a jacket to cope with this but the slightly warmer temperatures mean winter coats are a little too much...It's Mac time.

For me the word Mac arouses images of myself at 4 years old in my yellow shiny, squeaky rain Mac or that of a flasher. But the Mac deserves much more than this and, chosen carefully and worn in the right way is a very sophisticated edition to the Spring wardrobe.

Oasis Waistcoat

This grey textured stripe waistcoat is a welcome twist to the oh so done, Kate Moss-esque tiny black waistcoat of last year.

I love the waistcoat look but have shyed away from buying one due to every chav on the high street wearing them all at the same time, every Friday and Saturday night!

This look is much more contemporary and the slightly mis-aligned collar adds to it's 'quirky old fella' appeal.

Leather Jacket

I haven't owned a leather jacket since i was about 15 and have always had a love hate relationship with them....They look great on men but in my opinion really hit or miss on girls.

Recently I have noticed some very nice, mainly brown leather jackets on girls and am now wondering whether (12 years after my 1st leather fashion disaster) i should give it another go!?

The key to getting the leather jacket look right is the tapered waist (bomber/biker-esque) , although i am still not  100% convinced that i can pull one off.
