Leap Year Proposals - Tiffany & Co

29th February comes once every four years and on this day women have the right to propose to men. Cue running, screaming men!

There are a few tales of origin for this tradition;

Irish
It is believed this tradition was started in 5th century Ireland when St. Bridget complained to St. Patrick about women having to wait for so long for a man to propose. According to legend, St. Patrick said the yearning females could propose on this one day in February during the leap year.

Scottish
The first documentation of this practice dates back to 1288, when Scotland passed a law that allowed women to propose marriage to the man of their choice in that year. They also made it law that any man who declined a proposal in a leap year must pay a fine. The fine could range from a kiss to payment for a silk dress or a pair of gloves.

I'm all for nipping up to Scotland to get myself some new outfits.

So if any of you ladies do decide to ask someone special to marry you just make sure you do the job properly, with some thought even if that thought is mainly about the ring you will choose if he says 'yes'.

And boys if you are thinking about getting down on one knee please lets not even consider Elizabeth Duke, Tiffany & Co all the way - some good examples here.

Bo Belle - Fair Trade Fashion And Gifts

On my search for more Eel skin products I stumbled upon Bo Belle, a company committed to fair-trade, who strive to live and trade in an ethical manner.

Such an important quality for us all to try to live by. So perhaps purchase your Eel skin purse from this site instead of from some of our large high street chains.

Coast Launches Shoe Collection

And about time too. Top to toe in one shop for wedding gear in a hurry, why didn't they launch this collection sooner?

With none of the 17 launch pairs over £100, a really great range of colours and a style not dissimilar to Dune, Coast are onto a sure thing here.

And good news for ladies with a more voluptuous figure, by popular demand Coast have introduced size 18s in selected garment styles - more to follow next season, keep an eye out.

A Matter Of Principles

Until recently I would write Principles off without a thought, it was a more mature lady's shop as far as I was concerned. So either I have got to that 'more mature lady' bracket or I was wrong.
Principles offers a good range of smart/casual wear and yes some of it is a on the mature side but diversity is the key and younger or older we must not be afraid to check out stores we may not be so familiar with. You could be surprised.

An instant outfit for under £115

Recently seen on Girls Aloud the Jaguar belt is a must have this season. This delicate snakeskin belt is available in a multitude of colours to suite every taste from classic to eccentric.
Angel Jackson has a small but exquisite collection of bags, belts and accessories which are definitely worth some attention this Spring.
